Adapting to new
environment is kind of like breathing.
You don’t really think about it. You just do it.
You don’t really think about it. You just do it.
New spaces, every crook, every tile.
New places, every view, every mile.
New faces, every look, every smile.
You once knew every hand you once held
Every good bye, leads to a new hello.
Always be a new kids in the block.
I try to learn something.
I try to learn something.
Leaving the euphoria from cap-and-gown
celebration.
And entering the professional world seems scary.
My entire world change.
And those carefree college days feel so far
away.
Wake up early. Dedicate my schedule to work.
Follow a dress code. Meeting new people. Learning something new from the very
start even I've already learn about it.
Many questions pop up.
How if I get a grumpy boss?
What will I do in the office?
And another how if, why if.
I’m nervous.
I’m scared.

Given privilege to directly work at
Directorate General of State Asset Management (DGSAM), Ministry of Finance. We
are expected to serve as an obedient employee. Be humble, be polite! Think,
speak, behave and act properly. Uphold the code of ethics and moral principles. Work with commitment and responsibility. Do collaboration and ensure a harmonious partnership. Provide service wholeheartedly. Do improvements in all areas, to be and to give the best.
In my first “three weeks training”, I
learned just how friendly people can be. How my nervous of entering the
professional world suddenly change, because of the warm welcoming from this directorate. Yah, Directorate of Separated State Asset Management.
In this Directorate, I learned how state asset derive from the
state budget and/or other state asset financial sources to be made state
capital investment in state-owned enterprises or other legal entities and
international institutions.
I learned how the administration of separated state asset so it can deliver a valid data which can be used by the
stakeholder. And by the impact of technology we can develop a web based application/program like Early Warning Systems (EWS) or known as modul KND.
I learned about four state-owned enterprises
and one institution, which directly managed by the ministry of finance. SMF.
SMI. PII. GDE. LPEI. Infrastructure summit 2005. Pra RUPS. RUPS. RPJMP. RKAP.
Commissioner. Share. Director. (And many more) It’s not a strange word now.
I learned about privatization, right issues.
How they’re so debatable. Pro’s and contras about it. It’s just so amazing
understanding them.
I learned about the basic of all that hard
work. Nota Dinas. Surat Menyurat. Inputting, scanning. Disposition. I can
figure out how mandatory work (for real) in this organization.
Not to mention, I also learned how to
deliver an idea in a forum or meeting by being an observe all this time. How a
meeting is running. The preparation. What happen there? What are they
discussing about? And how the material on the meeting related with what I’ve been learned. It's so relatable.
However, now I’m feeling rich. I am rich of
Knowledge.
And with every place I’ve ever been. There
is no place like its beautiful work routine, its overly populated room, its
busy people. Meeting. Its full agenda. Its pending task. Its everyday
conversation. Its head knocked bundle. Its hard worker people. Its lame joke.
Laugh and smile of the people in it. And even its free lunch.
Direktorat KND, I call it.
And I love being part of.
Thank you for the three weeks experience and
knowledge :)
